Tampa Developer Announces Partnership With TGH to Open New Hospital in Ybor City
A Tampa developer, Darryl Shaw, announced a partnership with Tampa General Hospital to build a new hospital campus in the east Ybor City district between East Adamo Drive and East 4th Avenue. The project, pending several city-approval steps, would initially include a hospital, clinic and medical offices on around 10 – 16 acres and could eventually incorporate retail, hotel and residential components. Shaw emphasized the development aims to revive Ybor as a “live-work-play” neighborhood and boost job creation while improving healthcare access for nearby residents.
