Hey, Tampa!

As Buddy the Elf put it, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”

Whether you’re sipping coffee by the tree, heading out for a holiday walk along the Riverwalk, or sneaking out for a festive bite or drink, we hope your week is filled with good food, good people, and a little Tampa sunshine. The city may slow down today, but the holiday spirit is alive everywhere. Now, here’s what you need to know to start the week:

  • First ever Riverfest officially kicked off in Downtown

  • Chicago deep dish pizza is coming to Tampa (finally)

LOCAL PICK

Tampa Bay Brewing Company

Why It’s Worth a Visit

Tampa Bay Brewing Company isn’t just another brewery — it’s a local favorite with deep Tampa roots and a lively downtown atmosphere that’s perfect for beers with friends, date nights, or casual dinners. With spacious indoor seating and a large outdoor patio, it’s one of those spots where locals and visitors alike gather for laid-back vibes, live music, and great food alongside a rotating lineup of house-brewed beers and classic pub fare.

Whether you’re craving a refreshing pint after exploring the Riverwalk or looking for a relaxed post-work hangout, TBBC delivers on both good drinks and good energy without feeling pretentious or overly touristy.

What to Try

  • Flagship Brews – The Red Alert Amber Ale and Concrete Beach IPA are crowd favorites and great intro brews for first-timers. Seasonal and limited releases on tap keep things interesting.

  • Food Favorites – Pair your beer with hearty eats like the Smoked Brisket BBQ Sandwich, Fish Tacos, or loaded fries. Their pub menu hits all the comfort notes and holds up well to bold brews.

  • Happy Hour & Flights – If you’re undecided, grab a flight of tasters to sample multiple beers. Happy hour deals make it even easier to explore the lineup without a full commitment.

How We’re Feeling

We’re loving TBBC for its authentic Tampa energy — chill, social, and genuinely fun. It doesn’t feel like a stuffy gastropub or a cookie-cutter brewery; it feels like a place locals go — loud enough for laughs, mellow enough for conversation, and always welcoming. Whether it’s sunshine on the patio or live tunes inside, you walk away feeling like you got the real Tampa brewery experience.

While adult-only cheer and gymnastics classes are a little harder to find, there are solid options around Tampa Bay if you’re looking to tumble, flip, or train again as an adult:

Adult Gymnastics / Tumbling Classes Several local gymnastics gyms offer adult open gym, tumbling classes, or private lessons — usually scheduled in the evenings. These are great for beginners or former gymnasts easing back in.

Adult Cheer & Stunt Training Some cheer gyms and all-star programs host adult stunt clinics, open practices, or skills nights, even if they don’t advertise them heavily. Calling or checking Instagram is usually the best bet.

Cross-Training Alternatives If you’re looking for similar skills and conditioning, check out:

  • Parkour or ninja gyms

  • Aerial silks or pole fitness studios

  • CrossFit gyms with gymnastics-focused programming

Pro tip: Ask about adult open gym, private sessions, or drop-in classes — many gyms offer them quietly based on demand.
